I bought this item because I always have a water shortage when camping in the desert. I got this because it was expandable and would fit in my ruck sack. I usually go out in the desert for three days at a time with only what I can carry on my back. Since exercising in the desert requires a minimum of a gallon of water per day I find myself needing to carry three gallons on each trip. That''s almost 25 pounds of just water.

This having been said, this little guy took care of 2 of those gallons. I take care of the third gallon with two half gallon canteens. It fits nicely in the large pocket of my ruck sack and does not leak. As I use water it becomes less bulky because of the expansion design. This leaves me with more and more room in my ruck the more I drink, which I like. It makes packing up for the trip home much easier.

If you are looking for a way to carry two gallons that is not going to leak everywhere, then this is worth the money.

This item is so inexpensive I hate to complain, but due to the position of the handle, you can''t pour water out of it one-handed, and it can''t sit on its side either. This is kind of a deal breaker as I intended to use it to wash out my wetsuit after surfing, but pouring out of it is a two handed operation so this doesn''t work. If the handle were located on the side it would be 1000% more useful. It''s also a little flimsy, but as I say it is cheap so no stars deducted for this.
