27oz Regular-Polished "Fill 2 Pure" Stainless Bottle

27oz Regular-Polished ''Fill 2 Pure'' Stainless BottleMy traveling friends were using this solid, sleek water bottle labeled "Fill 2 Pure" in Australia, so I asked about it and found out it has a unique filtering system that delivers bottled water quality. While they use it everyday to get good tasting water, they said it particularly works well when traveling to places like SE Asia where you can''t trust the tap water.

My friends are water freaks and claim the filter in this bottle is the best for removing contaminates. The filter can only be used for water -but not hot water or salt water.

The bottle top has a filtering system attached to it that is completely removed from the bottle by unscrewing the top. The filter cartridge at the base of the tube from to the top is replaceable by screwing it off. Based on the brochure, you replace the filter after 100 gallons. The manual included states the filter eliminates or removes 99.99% of bacteria and/or harmful contaminates using a Seychelle/BIOSAFE technology. However, the product website description does not claim it removes bacteria, just contaminants, and clearly states this filter is intended for municipal tap water. Appearantly, these bottles come with the "Seychelle Regular" filter, not the "Seychelle Standard" filter that also removes bacteria but is slower flowing and intended for use in the field by campers, bikers, etc.(Note: These stainless steel bottles are not recommended for the "Seychelle Advanced" filter cartridge intended for use in third world countries, including ponds or streams, to remove even more bacteria and viruses, because it has a very slower flow rate and needs a squeeze type bottle.)

To drink from this bottle you snap up a drinking cover cap (avoiding touching the actual spout with dirty hands) and draw the water up through the filter system, like sucking on a straw, with the bottle straight below your mouth or tilted out about 45 degrees below.

Before storing the bottle for a long period the directions say to flush the filter and bottle with chlorinated water and let it dry before storing it for as long as need. While you cannot put the filter portion into the dishwasher, the outside bottle can be.

I intend to also order another bottle to keep with my luggage that has a "Standard" cartridge installed so I never forget to take it on trips so I can get clean water. While the bottles I received in this order looked and felt exactly like my friend''s bottles, the ones I received did not have the "Fill 2 Pure" logo on it. Overall, the quality, lightweight yet strong feel of this bottle, particularly with the filter system, is well worth it.
