I purchased a bunch of hydroflasks as promotional items for my business...I kept one for myself and one morning decided to put some coffee in it before a day of skiing...Got back to the car at the end of the day and burnt the hell out of my mouth when I took a gulp....Amazing product...just watch yourself

I heard about these bottles on a Podcast and I have to say they are incredible!! I put steaming hot water in one and 10 hours later it was STILL steaming. I left ice water in another one for 24 hours and there were still remnants of ice in it an entire day later!! The best thing about these bottles is that they don''t ''sweat'' and get everything else in your bag wet. Also, if you have a boiling hot drink in it you can barely tell from the outside that you have hot liquid in it. The bottle only feels slightly warm to the touch unlike other bottles that will burn your hands if you have a hot drink in them. Definitely worth the price!!

This is a very nice bottle from a good company. I prefer it to the Sigg bottle I had before because of the insulation and the absence of weird chemicals on the inside. The threads between the bottle and the cap are not as well toleranced as the Sigg bottles, but the seal is very good and it never leaks. The main problem I have is that the paint on the outside of the bottle rubs off very easily and it gets all over the other things in my bag, including my computer and my books. So if they could re-engineer the paint and maybe tighten up the tolerance in the screw threads, it would be a perfect bottle. But, as it is, it is still my favorite water bottle.

After waiting for 5 weeks to get this drinking bottle (I knew in advance I''d wait that long, so it''s not a complaint), it arrived with a green-colored foreign substance on several of the threads of the bottle. The substance is not removable. Very disappointing. I called the company the day I got the bottle and received a defect free bottle 3 days later. Great customer service. Be sure to check the threads of the bottle to make sure there are no defects/substances that shouldn''t be on them.

*** Since posting my initial review, I searched on Google for "green substance on stainless steel bottle." What showed up was a link to a stainless bottle, also made in China, imported by Klean Kanteen. Several reviewers (on Amazon) found a green substance on the inside of the rim on the threads of their bottle along with a bad taste in water placed in the bottle. The defect on the bottle sent to me is not an isolated incident. We don''t know if the same factory made the bottles for the two different American importers, but we do know that there is a problem with the quality control of the manufacturer(s). I e-mailed both Klean Kanteen and Hydro Flask about the problem. Klean Kanteen wrote a very professional response to my concerns (they said they have tested the substance on their defective bottles and have found it to be non-toxic). I received a VERY unprofessional response from Hydro Flask. The President of the company wrote about the frequent flyer miles they used to visit China and that the factory is in a very beautiful location. It was mainly a generic response to customers asking about the flask being manufactured in China rather than addressing my particular issue.

I ordered a 24oz Hydro Flask along with several Klean Kanteen sizes here on Amazon and have tested them both extensively. Both were shipped from and sold by Amazon so I do not think any of them were knock-offs.

When holding both bottles in my hands, it is immediately apparent that the Hydro Flask bottles have a finish that is smoother compared to the Klean Kanteen. It feels like they spent a bit more time on the Hydro Flask.

The Klean Kanteen bottles have a rolled steel lip on the top edge where you put your lip to drink out of the bottle, whereas the Hydro Flask has a smooth flush top edge. The smooth lip on the Hydro Flask makes it more durable and easier to clean, but it''s also more comfortable to drink from and less prone to spills. I find the rolled edge on the lip of the Klean Kanteen a bit uncomfortable and more prone to spills when drinking.

As other reviewers have mentioned the Hydro Flask insulation is amazing. I tested it by filling it up with cold water from my fridge and leaving it out on a summer night. The next morning I tried the water and it was still ice cold. The insulation also allows this flask to be used with hot liquids, whereas the Klean Kanteen is not insulated and very hot liquids would make the bottle too hot to touch. The insulation (and possibly the higher quality steel) does make the Hydro Flask bottle a bit heavier, so if you are looking for the lightest bottle possible then the Klean Kanteen might be a better choice.

After using the Hydro Flask for several days there is no metal taste at all, everything I put in it tastes exactly like it should.

The Hydro Flask is a well made bottle and everything about it seems superior to the Klean Kanteen bottles to me. If you are on the fence about which stainless steel water bottle to try, I highly recommend this one.
