I tried this bottle out on a 60 mile ride, in a vertical cage (not a horizontal one). I had read product reviews that it leaked, so I tested it at home. Sure enough, it can leak if one is not careful about how the cap is screwed on. However, if one is careful, the cap can be snuggly screwed on (but not twisted on) and it doesn''t leak at all.The smart shot feature is very nice. No teeth pulling out a tab, or pushing it back in. The quantity per shot is enough for a quick amount but not too much for those that might not be able to take a lot at a time.
It fits perfectly in my bottle cage like any other cycling bottle.
All in all, a good product.Clear bottle with volume marks makes it easy to measure and mix nutrition pre-race and watch consumption during. Squeeze to drink nozzle is also nice to have.

These water bottles leak when squeezed or turned sideways or upside down. The paint peels off of the bottle when used and the paint flakes get all over your hands. After 2 uses the design on the bottles is over 50% worn off. I am suprised that a company like xlab that cells such high end bike supplies would put their name on such a cheesy water bottle. The first time i took these bottles (i have two) for a nice long ride the graphic on the side came off and pieces of it got everywhere. I am happy that the bottles dont leak at all, but they do not flow nearly as well as some of my other bottles (specialized purist is the one i am thinking of). Overall it''s a bottle, it works, nothing special.
