I purchased two of these bottles and they were NOT the same ones as pictured. I did get a sport top style but it had a flip lid covering the spout which had a difficult time staying closed when not in use. Also, to close the bottle you have to push down a rubber piece down instead of screwing it shut like the one pictured on amazon''s site. In addition to not receiving what I thought I was buying, one came defective.

Another thing I did not like was that there was not a second layer of stainless steel so when you put cold water in it, it starts to sweat. I promptly returned it and purchased the thermos foogo stainless steel straw sippy which has two layers of stainless steel. It keeps the cup cooler for longer periods of time and does not get my diaper bag wet. It''s much easier for my toddler to use and the lid stays shut. Plus he doesn''t have to use his fingers to close the bottle so it won''t leak which is a big deal to me when his fingers are dirty from running around the playground.

For the last several months I have been on a mission to find water bottles that work for my kids. I wanted something durable, safe (BPA free), and reusable. I have purchased BPA free plastic water bottles and stainless steel water bottles from many many many stores. None of them have been exactly what I was looking for. Consequently, I now have an entire (huge I might add) kitchen drawer full of water bottle and I was beginning to feel that I was defeating the purpose of reducing consumption and waste!

Finally, I was at a local grocery store that specializes in local organic foods. I found the Green Sprouts bottle in with the baby items, but as I looked at the bottle I realized that it was exactly what I was looking for. I had been searching for a water bottle that held enough water to get my 9 year old and 5 year old through their school day. I didn''t want anything too large because a 16+ ounce water bottle filled full can weigh down their already heavy backpacks. I also wanted something that wouldn''t spill and was easy enough to open so that my 5 year old wouldn''t have to ask his teacher for help opening it, because heaven knows the LAST THING she needs to do in her already very busy day is to run around the room opening water bottles for 23 kids!

This water bottle fit the bill. It is around 8 ounces of water. Enough to get my kiddo''s through their day, and light enough that it doesn''t add a ton of weight to their backpack. IT is very easy for my 5 year old to open and get a drink without any help. We have other water bottles with ''sport'' style tops that are very difficult to open to the point that my 5 year old uses his teeth to pull it open and ends up popping the entire top off the bottle sending water all down his front and onto anything he is sitting on.

The cap that covers the ''sport top'' is sturdy and doesn''t seem like it will break off anytime soon. It also closes the sport top when completely pushed onto the water bottle lid.

I also like that this bottle is stainless steel. Even with the BPA free plastics I still feel better about purchasing the food grade stainless steel as it is much more likely to last a lot longer than the plastic bottles.

This bottle is easy to clean. I just throw mine in the dishwasher on the top rack and put the lid (opened) on the fold down racks of the top rack, and it is ready to go.

I hesitate to say this is the perfect water bottle, but for our family...it is!

I bought these bottles a few years ago and got the style pictured, the ones that came when I ordered last month were different, more sippy cup looking but my kids didn''t complain and they seemed to work OK until my daughter chewed on the sippy cap and chopped off the top she knew to spit it out but I would be concerned for a younger child. I also had all kinds of complications with the seller that I won''t go into here but I would not buy this item again.

I have one green sprouts sippy that I love and so I was surprised at the design and poor quality of this item. It is not safe as the piece where the water comes out easily detaches. The lid doesn''t secure and water leaks everywhere. There''s nothing good to say about this item... I''m going to look into returning it (what a disappointment and such a hassle! Don''t buy this save your money and most importantly, keep your child from choking!

I bought this bottle for my toddler, along with two Klean Kanteens, and this one has proven to be superior. While my Klean Kanteens have dents, dings, and chipping paint, this shows little to no signs of wear. There is no leaking whatsoever, and it keeps water cold for a nice, long time. Flow is slow enough to avoid mess even though it does not have a no-spill spout. It''s also very simple to clean, since I can get the small end of a bottle brush all the way through the spout mechanism. I would definitely buy this again!
