Some other bottles (rubbermaid, etc) have a plastic strap that connects to the lid to cap it off. These can get in the way when you drink and after a short period of heavy use will break at the strap. This bottle on the other hand, has a very thick plastic cap that pivots. I have been using it for several months with no problems, and I cannot see it having issues anytime soon.
The cap has a seal built in, and liquid DOES not leak out of this thing. Ever. The body is a thick rigid plastic. It can bend a little bit, but its pretty robust.
Best of all, because these things are only a couple bucks, you can buy several. This is nice because if you always have it with you, you don''t have to fret over losing it.
All in all, exactly what I look for in a water bottle.

I really like this bottle. I use it every other day during the warmer months, alternating it now with the larger one Lock & Lock polyethylene terephthalate Water Bottle, 40 ounce so one is always cold.According to Amazon I bought this water bottle in 2008 (neat feature there) and it''s still just like new. I still have the label on it, maybe I should post a photo of it sometime.
I hand wash only, I''ve used it in the freezer many times, I''ve dropped it -though not when it''s been frozen --, many times. It''s really easy to clean, easy to pop the top and take a drink, easy to hold, easy to fill. I haven''t had any leaking issues or problems with the top not closing. When I freeze it, I leave the top popped open so i can add more water without having to pry off the cover.
Most important to me though is I''ve never had a problem when the water in the bottle has warmed up. In other water bottles (the kind meant to be frozen, and other BPA free bottles, I''ve tried many of them), when the cold water gets even just slightly warm and I drink it, it gives me a stomach ache.
That *does not* happen with this bottle, or any of the Lock & Lock bottles I''ve bought, and that''s a big relief.
All in all, I really like this bottle. I bought the larger 40 ounce one, and the 24 ounce (Lock&Lock 24-Fluid Ounce Bisfree Handy Sports Water Bottle, Tritan, 2.9-Cup) as well. Great product.

I purchased the bottle because it is BPA free and I have a tendency to leave my water in the car in hot and sunny Florida. I have been using the bottle for a few days and I freeze the liquid overnight.I have had no leakage issues but I wonder if everyone is completely closing the lid. I notice that there is a small click and then as you continue pushing the lid clicks again fro the seal hence the "lock" and "lock". I am betting the leaking complainers are not pushing the lid entirely down.

This is a PETE (polyethylene #1) water bottle not a Polypropylene #5 one. Actually only the top/cap is Polypropylene. Besides that the bottle works well, easy to clean, easy to fill with ice.
