Osprey Talon 8-Litre Lumbar Pack Save 14% off

This is a great lumbar pack with excellent support when synched down and on the move. I bought it for my next Rogaine event. I wanted something just the right size to carry water, some food, rain jacket and a few other needed/required items. Fits well and for those who prefer lumbar packs this is a pack you should check out!!!

Overall, this lumbar pack is not great, but not bad. I just received my today. My chief complaint is really my personal size problem. The belt clip at max length only allows for someone with a waist at/under 46". For all the "normal" size folks, this is more than enough, of course. Second, the waist belt and clasps seem on the small/flimsy side. Strap is 3/4" 1". I know this isn''t meant to haul 40 lbs, but I think a normal 1.5" or 2" wide belt would be better. Last complaint: while the included water bottles are certainly usable, they are essentially throw-aways. Odds are good that you already own better water bottles. For a pack of this price, they could do better. I liked the separate storage pockets, and the bunge type cords that allow you to stuff things on the outside of the pack if needed. However, I will return this product.

This is a nicely made lumbar pack, but don''t be fooled it is much smaller than 8 litres.

I would estimate the main compartment at 5L, so somehow the belt pockets and water bottles are supposed to add another 3-4 litres. This means the pack is about two thirds of the size I expected.

The size is perfect for my back. There''s ample storage. It''s light weight. When synched down it stays in place. The bottles suck. I use camelback podiums with this bag.
