THis strap is plenty long for use by adults as well as kids. It is actually a bit long for small children. I purchased it for my 2 and 4 yr olds, but I ended up opting for the handle grips for them instead, and my husband and I adopted these straps. We use them everyday and are happy with them, they keep the bottle from falling out of the purse, or requiring an extra hand (which busy mom''s don''t have!).
