I bought one of these to attach to my motorcycle to carry a bottle of water or my coffee mug... It grips either of those objects snugly however, the entire holder rotates due to vibration when mounted to a horizontal surface, be it a 1" handlebar or 7/8" saddlebag guard (Yes, I used the supplied little rubber pad).

I also tried wrapping the entire surface with black electrical tape and used the rubber pad. There is nothing I could do to prevent this rotation. Unfortunately, its a poor design (the over center clamp simply cannot apply enough clamping force to overcome the weight) It is worth noting that this may work mounted vertically, such as on a bicycle seat post.

I bought this when I was in Sturgis, SD at the rally and love it!! Was easy to attach to my bike and holds my water bottle with no bouncing around. I have tried other cup holders and this one does it for me. I can let it swing or keep it stationary. It served me well on my 1200 mile trip back home. I would recommend this to anyone, bicycle or motorcycle. It works!!

It clips on securely, although I added a piece of rubber to protect the bike''s finish and give a better grip. It comes with a small square of rubber, but I wanted something under the entire gipping surface. It comes on and off easily. It holds a large 24 oz waterbottle just fine. However, it really is butt ugly. This might look at home on a mountain bike, but on my racer it looks just awful. It is pretty big, the clamp looks clunky and holds the bottle quite far from the tube. In short, this bottle holder is very functional, so if you don''t care about how it looks, or like the robo-styling, you should be quite happy with this holder.
