There is a design defect in this product. Almost all of these valves will fail and not hold back water from leaking. The design engineer needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new design that will not leak. Merchants beware, you will get customer complaints on this product. Do not stock this item. After 20+ years, the spigot on my ceramic pot started leaking. My new white spout was delivered the next day (which was great) and I installed it on my water jug. The spout leaked around the seal. No matter how much I tightened it, it still leaked. It turns out that the opening on my water pot is a fraction over 1". The rubber washers were not big enough to seal the opening.The company said they tried to find larger washers, but there weren''t any available. I ended up using aquarium sealer inside the hole so the spout would not leak. It has been over 1 month and so far everything is working out fine.
I am surprised that there are not ANY larger washers to be found, since there were washers that worked just fine on the pot previously.

This is a beautiful bottle and easy to fill but it leaks and that is completely unacceptable. I see that numerous other buyers have had this same experience leading me to wonder how long the manufacturer is going to wait until they retool this part. These are good spouts, leak free. I use these for glass juice and water dispensers. They have to be fairly snug onto the container or they will leak. These spouts are superior over the other spouts I have used. As long as they are snug they are leak free.Save 25% off
