I used this filter when I went to Haiti as part of a relief team after the earthquake. I drank water from what ever source I could find and I had no problems what so ever. The best testimony I can give is that I spent a week over there and did not get sick. The filter does give a slight iodine taste but nothing like drinking water with iodine tablets added to it. The flavor is just a slight iodine flavor.I will have this filter with me when I go back next month and where ever I go that has a questionable water source.
One drawback is a moderate drinking pace, but it is adequate when squeezed. I prefer the filter over tablets since sometimes you only find a water source sporadically, and who wants to wait 45 minutes for the pill to activate?
You do get some random inspections at airports if you carry it on, but no one has ever confiscated it.

I have found the flow rate for the katadyn is pretty good and easy to squeeze the bottle. My main issue is the iodine taste.I will stick with my filter with the pump. A bit more inconvenient as I was many wanting to use the katadyn while fishing clear trout waters.

The Pump Bottle Mister is great. There was a little confusion because the bottle says "Non-potable water. Not intended for drinking." on the warning label. I found out the hard way from an unreasonable and confused Amazon seller named "Cents of 99". They stated that the label is a lie and that the water is fine. You can judge for yourself that the name of this seller is a non-English speaking, over-seas merchant who, by the way, will accost you with accusing and over reacted e-mails if you don''t give him a 100% perfect review. I gave him a neutral (3 stars) because it took two weeks and the water bottle said non-potable water. He says the neutral "ruined his reputation" and that me saying it took a while was a "false accusation"!!? These people are nuts and definitely not worth dealing with. They also didn''t provide tracking. Cents of 99 makes no sense! Don''t use them!
I bought this bottle at Amazon to mist clothes while ironing. BIG disappointment. No combination of water level, pump pressure, or nozzle adjustment will result in mist or light spray. Love this bottle. I had a plastic one that my puppy chewed up, lol. Works great. Might be hard for a big snout to get into it as there is a lip that comes over the trough but you could turn it sideways and it should work.
It''s lightweight, doesn''t feel sturdy. The plastic cap could be a little heavier to add to the quality, as of now it is flimsy. It doesn''t sit flush with the bottle and every time I carry it it seems defective because it can be squeezed to touch the bottle. The carabiner that is in the picture is not the one I received, I received a cheapo plastic wirey carabiner.
There is no insulation to keep the water cold. I loaded it with ice to the brim (no water), within 20 minutes that ice melted. I can''t imagine how fast it would get warm outdoors in the sun.
I tried to just ask for my money back (including shipping for this heinous product). Seller "As Seen on TV Products" would not refund my shipping costs to return their product so I am keeping it until I find a better portable water bottle for my dog. Why should I lose any money to get rid of this product?
Maybe I''m just pessimistic, but for $24 shipped, I expected a quality product.
Edit: Four month update, it''s now November 5. My dog never got used to using this product. He would only drink from it if he was really, really thirsty. So there I was for these past few months carrying this water bottle everywhere we went, while he would go drink other dog owners'' water but run away from me. Today I got the Water Rover portable water bottle and he instantly comes to me to drink water. I think it is the steel or something that leaves a funny taste in the water of this H20K9 water bottle. When I smell inside it, it smells full of chlorine.

I have a service dog, so I frequently need to take water with us on our outings. I just had to purchase this after I saw it. My dog is fairly picky about what he drinks out of. When we''re hiking or playing at the lake, he''ll often refuse to drink out of the soft, foldable bowls. He loves his H2OK9. It''s hard plastic and easy to drink out of. It is quite heavy when full, but worth it for long, hot walks, but not for anyone worrying about weight. The carabiner makes it easy to carry or hook to a backpack. The carrier for this particular Nathan bottle allows me to carry my cell phone in the pocket (out of 3 different carriers purchased, 2 allow me to carry my cell phone & one the pocket is too small for an iPhone). The front pocket on this case is large it holds my iPhone and some other essentials (lip balm, tissues, etc.)
I first thought that a 22oz bottle would be heavy for running, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn''t bother me in the least. The handheld case fit my hand well, but I think there could be some challenges with those with smaller hands. I had the adjustable strap as small as it could go and it fit me perfectly. My friend is somewhat more petite than me and she was able to use this just fine, but also commented that she would have liked to been able to have more adjustment in the strap.
The only challenge is getting the case on/off. You have to pull good to get it off and then getting it back on requires a second person helping or a lot of finagling to get the bottle back in --but this shouldn''t be a deal breaker!!
