Stainless Steel Water Bottle Canteen 40oz. (Stainless Finish)

The previous reviewer is correct. You are NOT getting the pictured water bottle ( Together-Bottle ).

You are getting what appears to be a stainless steel 40 oz ECOtanka water bottle. "ECOtanka Stainless Steel 304" is stamped on the bottom.

PROS:

Shipping was incredibly fast. I ordered 2 of these on a Saturday and got them both on the following Monday. The shipping is from the vendor, not Amazon.

I have tested for leaking and both bottles appear to be leak-free without having to put some muscle into twisting the cap.

The inside of the cap is stainless steel. The outside of the cap is oversized (which is good) and plastic.

It is at least 40 oz.

CONS:

I cannot determine if this is truly an ECOtanka product. (Yes, it should have been a Together-Bottle product to begin with) The picture at and the product received are similar. But they might not be close enough.

The shine is different but that really doesn''t mean anything

The received bottle is more rounded at the bottom and where the neck meets the body

Looking inside the bottle, you can see a seam. You can''t see a seam on the outside. I don''t know if this is normal for this type of product. My understanding is that these are extruded from a blank so there are no seams.

There are no graphics on the outside of the bottle as seen on the ECOtanka website or brochures or as displayed on other websites. The item received is plain, just metal and a bottom stamp. I do prefer it this way but it casts doubt on whether this is an OEM product or knockoff.

Worst of all, you can taste the metal. I have washed both bottles 3 times with soap and hot water and also have used baking soda with warm water and the metal taste remains. Is there supposed to be some taste from the bottle? I thought the whole reason for getting stainless steel was because it imparted no taste and it''s easy to clean well. Now I''m not sure I got what I paid for.

Strongly recommend against purchasing this item from this vendor.

I have an expensive drinking water filtration system at home and I have no filtered water options at work besides drinking out of plastic bottles or chlorinated faucet water. I have tried aluminum bottles and have liked them but I drink a lot of water throughout the day and I could not find one this large in stores anywhere. I have been looking for a while! This 40 oz bottle is just enough water to get me through the 8 hour work day. I am very pleased with it and will be ordering more. The only thing i don''t like about it is that its obviously heavy when filled but I can deal with that. Also, gripping it is hard when its full because its heavy. I bought the matte version too and that one doesn''t slip as easy. Even with these minor cons I still highly recommend these water bottles. When they are unfilled they are surprisingly very light so the manufacture did a good job of making them as light as possible to compensate for the fact of how heavy they would be full. They are exactly what I wanted for work and I am very pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend them if you drink a lot of water during the day.

Bought several Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle as well as these stainless steel water bottles over the past 5 years. Use them daily at work and school. Carried them on all travels since they are light, convenient to wash, and economical for water needs. They keep the water cold for a long time.

While on the road, use a stiff, light bottle brush to scrub the insides. Scrubbing the mouth of the bottle diligently every evening ensures fresh tasting water the next day. At home, wash the bottles in the lower rack of the dish washer and, apart from the inevitable dents acquired during hikes/travel, they look sparkling new. (Scrub the caps separately using a stiff disk brush and never put them in the dishwasher).

Very happy with them. Great gifts to give to family and friends also.

Solidly constructed, very large capacity. I like the compromise with the size of the neck opening, it''s large enough to add ice but small enough to drink from comfortably.

The only problem, that was easily resolved, is the bottle leaked. I added a rubber sealer and it is great now.
