Sigg Design Water BottleI carry this bottle around in my bag, and usually have it filled with water. I have had it for about a year now, and here is what I have noticed:

The good:

-It''s very stylish. I get complimented on it all the time.

-It is very durable, build wise. I have dropped it a lot and banged it forcefully into the sink while trying to shake the water out quite a few times, and there is only one tiny ding in it, that I would not notice if I didn''t know it was there. The paint has held up nicely as well.

-The top is nice if you want to hang it off your bag. However, I don''t recommend this, because the bottle (when full) is usually pretty heavy and just ends up swaying a lot when walking.

The bad:

-Right away, I noticed that the top spills when you open the bottle. When closed, the top is solid. However, when I have it in my bag, tossing around, some water gets stuck between the cap and the lip of the bottle, and this water squirts out as soon as I open the bottle. This is very annoying, and always gets my hand wet.

-When you open and close the bottle a lot (something that is expected from everyday use), the lining on the thread of the bottle peels off. This happened to mine a month or two into using it. It still closes tightly, but the bottle needs to be lined.

-The lining itself seems to go bad after a while. At first, I had no problem with it. However, a month or two in, the water inside the bottle started to taste funny, kind of rotten or stale. I''m pretty sure that that is not supposed to happen.

Final thoughts: this is a really cool bottle, and holds up to stress nicely, but I can''t trust the water that I drink out of it anymore.

I found out today that this type of water bottle, that I bought specifically because it was BPA free, was not in fact BPA free and the company was aware and did little to notify the public of its false claims that lead to its recall. I was very happy with my SIGG water bottle, but I am not willing to pay $7.50 to have it replaced with a water bottle from same company that is claiming that the newer liner is now REALLY the safe version. I thought that''s what I paid $20 for 2 years ago. I do not trust SIGG products, I would not recommend using any of their products.

Ordered several of these for our family as we drink so much water throughout the day. We have been trying to cut back on using throwaway bottles and the Siggs make it easier to try and do that. Our kids especially appreciate the fun designs; the lids are easy for them to use as well.

One caveat is that it is a little harder to clean than some other bottles, but overall we prefer the Sigg more than any other bottle out there.

One of the raw foodists recommended this bottle and I bought it. I only used the bottle for about 1 1/2 months and the liner near the mouth started to peel away. I tossed the bottle away and didn''t even bother to contact the company. Don''t waste your money.

I have 4 of these. I like them they''re okay for what I need them for they''re a pain in the butt to clean if you don''t use a dishwasher... and I only like the spin cap''s because I REALLY hate the push in type. I dont even really like the spin cap because I do a lot of driving (Green I know!! lol) and its not always easy to put them back on and they kinda get pressure built up so it squarts when you open it. And you cant put ice in them. Ohhh well... they work for now.
