I bought this to carry when I fly fish. It does everything I need....is well built and I feel safe drinking the water directly out of the creek without further treatment. Good product that has a good reputation among the fly fishermen I fish with.

I bought this item to use for when I go to the gym. Not only is the cap hard to pull, also it takes a lot of force to squeeze bottle only to get a small flow of water. I then decided to take out the filter and I now fill it with water from my saychelle pitcher. I love the pitcher! I should have bought another pitcher or its replacement filter instead of the bottle. This bottle would be fine for emergency purposes or if you are up stream camping, hunting or fishing. But for my every day normal use, I just refill my on-the-go water bottles from my saychelle pitcher. I would not recommend the bottle, but i do the saychelle pitcher. I love the saychelle water as it not only removes contaminates, it also puts it to an alkaline state.

I used one of these for several years, on literally dozens of backpacking trips, and never got sick from drinking contaminated water. It''s not designed to be the major source of water purification (I would still recommend chemical purification for large amounts of water) but it is more than adequate for immediate personal needs. No measuring, no waiting, just tilt and squeeze for clean, bacteria & spore/cyst free water.

This filter is reputed to be very good which is why I bought it as a gift for my husband. It requires a lot of pull to use, and the plastic cap actually broke off after only a slight amount of use.

I bought this hoping I could squeeze the bottle to get the water out, it is impossible. Like trying to suck cement through a straw, I had high hopes will have to throw this thing out now. =(
