I bought this as a pack for my Lab to participate in a charity dog walk. The morning of the walk we put 6 16oz bottles of water (3 per side)and a small towel in it to carry for us and hopefully (as Ceasar puts it) give him some more work. I put it on him several weeks ago when we got it to get him used to it. He wore it comfortably for about an hour so I''m confident we it had adjusted well. I tell him to wait by the door and go open the truck, call him to load up, he jumps in and the front strap disintigrates. Literally nothing left the webbing holding the buckle to the right side is gone. I look at the way this is sewn and its prety easy to see what happened. The webbing is looped to itself with one row of stitching, not sewn thru or around. It is also nylon or some marterial not condusive to use as webbing. I looked at the $50-60 saddle bags and thought I wouldn''t get my monies worth. I hate being wrong like most people but I hate calling a company asking for a refund or something else worse. Chalk this one up to not following instincts. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT It really is made poorly.

At first I was hesitant to buy this pack, after reading some of the negative comments about it. However, after using it for nearly 9 months, I can honestly say it is a terrific product. It adjusted to fit my boxer''s broad chest and small middle with no problem...I just tucked the extra strapping up. We''ve used it nearly every day for her walks, with no noticeable wear. It slows her down so she doesn''t pull on the leash (much better for her neck) and provides that extra exercise she needs to reduce her energy. Highly recommended!

Edit 2/11/12: I thought I''d add an update to my review. After three years, we are still using this pack. I''ve had no problems with it, and we''ve used it every day except during the summer (my dog overheats easily).

This pack came just in time for our camping trip over the weekend. Taking it out of the packaging it seemed like a really nice pack for the price. Reading another low review I was skeptical. We put in a couple bottles of water, a towel, and some sunblock, just to test it out. The 1st thing we noticed was she seemed to calm down a bit with the pack on. She is a small pit mix and the pack seemed a little big on her, then we noticed that you can totally adjust the straps and after we did, it fit perfect. We went through our hike with no problem. So all in all, great pack, great price!

Great product! This is a very functional pack and the best price we found. The adjustable fit stays on our German Shepard just fine even when she''s running. It makes her feel like she''s working. Why pay $60 for a fancy backpack? It''s for a dog.

I bought this because my 2 yr old husky pulls like crazy when we walk. I''ve used it for about 1 week now and I notice he seems to get more out of the walk and at the end of the walk he''s pulling less. I put one water bottle on each side so far. This week I''m going to increase the weight by putting 2 more bottles. The belly strap was long and I cut it shorter and put some super glue on the ends. So far no problem. For the price, this is the best backpack. The others are way more expensive. Try this one.
