This is probably one of the better picnic sets i''ve seen. All the pieces are sturdy and not flimsy cheap stuff like in other sets.

Just used this pack for the first time last weekend, and while I enjoyed it I think a couple minor improvements would make it better. First the good part everything you need for a picnic, always together in one place, easy to add your wine, cheese, bread etc and hit the road. The two suggestions I''d make to the designer are

#1 the cool compartment is very narrow and does not have much capacity. If you wanted to take a pint-sized container of some salad, it is not wide enough.

#2 the shoulder straps are thin and uncomfortable. I don;t think they were well designed for the weight to be borne by the pack if it is well loaded with food & wine, along with the std accessories.

Net-net, good pack (not great) + good price = a good buy...just wish it were a great one!

Backpack is very sturdy. I wish the food compartment was a little bigger, but it will suffice. Napkins are very small, I will probably change them out. Overall I am pleased with the purchase, probably a little overpriced, but I will get a lot of use from it.

So this is my favorite picnic basket as though the other "basket" types are adorable, this is super functional and your husband will carry it because its actually a bookbag so he still feels cool.
