Unlike most of the other wheeled coolers, this one has the handle on the back. It''s retractable with a push button release, like the tow handle on a suitcase. I like this design better because I''m very tall, and the ones with the handles on the end would usually have the bottom scrape along the ground when pulling them. No problems with that here. The wheels are large, and it''s easier to pull over rough ground than smaller wheeled coolers.

There''s also a drain at the back, under where the handle retracts. The inside is sloped so that most of the water runs out if it''s on level ground. Or you can just use the handle as a lever to tip it up to make it drain faster. So far it keeps 20 pounds of ice up to 5 days, but we haven''t gotten to the really hot weather here yet. I probably could have put another 20 pounds in it and still had room left over. The handles on the sides are sturdy and easy to grip. I had no problems lifting it with the ice in it. It''s easy to clean on the inside, with rounded corners that don''t trap crud.

The only drawbacks are the width, and the lid not having a latch. Since you''re dragging it by the short end, it''s much wider than other coolers and may not fit through some stairways and doors. Just grab a handle on one of the ends and pull it through. The lid does stay on reasonably well by friction, but I wouldn''t trust it if it tipped over with something heavy inside. The width does mean that it''s much, much tougher to tip over when pulling it, though.

Overall, a nice cooler that holds a lot of ice, pulls easier over gravel, and doesn''t scrape on the ground. I''m happy with mine.

Edit: After using it for a couple of weeks, I wanted to add that the handle and wheel design means most of the weight of the cooler is resting on the wheels, instead of pulling on your arm. It''s much less tiring to pull long distances than my old one with the tow handle on the end.

I''m also really liking the molded handles. Some of the coolers I''ve used in the past with swing out handles had a disturbing amount of flex. It felt like the handles were about to snap off lifting the cooler when it was full. Others had handles that were molded depressions in the sides, which made the weight of the cooler rest painfully on your fingertips. This one has solid towel bar type handles that you can easily wrap your entire hand around.

Edit: Three years and many, many fishing trips later, it''s still going strong, still holding ice for days. No breaks or leaks. Looks like it will last for a lot longer too. Buy one and you won''t regret it.

Great Cooler with extra thick walls to keep things cold. I need one like this for my work and with 4 Ice Blocks it will stay cold for 2-3 days in a hot car. Wheels make it easy to move and handle pretty rough terrain. My only issue was the supplier, Target, the first cooler I received had a damaged wheel probably do to the poor packaging. The box was crushed on one side and there was little padding inside around the cooler. I will give Target a good grade for customer service and returns. I simply printed out my Amazon receipt and had UPS pick up the damaged item at no cost to me. The replacement cooler also came in a beat up box, but, was fine.

I will give my initial review for this item until I get a chance to use it.

First off, I bought mine from Target for $35.00 so if you have a chance to go there, go quick while supplies last.

When I first saw the cooler, I thought it was to big. The MAX Cold does add a little more thickness than your average 50qt cooler, but if you want ice to stay as ice, then get this cooler.

The handle is great, and I feel better than other ones that are pulled from the side where the weight of the cooler actually is on your shoulder, rather than the handle. This one is more on the handle. The weehels are nice and big so you wont have any issues going over dirt or rocks.

I thought I would have an issue with the size of the cooler cause I have a Chrysler 300C and this thingfit just perfect. I also like how the handles are made, nice and big and easy to grab. Althought I did not have a chance to fill the cooler with anything, lifting it felt pretty solid.

There is a video on Youtube about this cooler, but the only thing is it shows it as a 60qt when igloo does not make this one in a 60qt. The person who put the video up (which looks like igloo) should of put 50qt. He has a nice video review of the item, and after you watch the video, he shows a nice Ice Pack divider and food tray which DOES NOT COME WITH IT. Had I never watched the video, I would never of known that they are added accessories to the cooler. My main concern of looking for a cooler was for a food tray so that I can put sandwiches or cheese which putting it directly on the ice.

I went ahead and was able to find the Food Tray and Ice Pack divider which is only sold on Igloos website.

The price of both items are not bad at all, but I wish they both came with the cooler.

Cooler itself is a good shape and handles are sturdy. I thought the wheels were gonna be some kind of rubber or soft material but they''re just hard plastic.

I needed a cooler for camping trip in late July and my mom needed one for a week-long roadtrip next week. So since I have an Amazon Prime account I came to Amazon first. I looked at LOTS of coolers and then discovered mom only needed a small one because she was going to be staying in hotels or the homes of friends for the whole trip, so lots of access to ice. So I told her she could go ahead and buy the cheap softside one she found at a discount store.

But... I''m going on a three-day trip at the end of July, when it is very hot and very humid. Meaning a serious need of cold beverages. I really wanted one with a latch but I couldn''t find a semi-decent one with wheels for under $150. Wheels were a definite requirement, and that was much more than I wanted to spend. I found this one which had the size and features I needed. But I was not impressed with the reviews. So I looked at reviews on other sites. Most were quite positive. I found it at Target for $20 less and they had it at my local store. One of the reviewers had purchased theirs from Target''s website and it arrived damaged. So he took it to his local Target and they ordered another one to be shipped to his home. He not only loved the cooler but praised Target''s customer service.

Save $20 and have the ability to return or exchange it locally made the decision a no-brainer. I haven''t used it yet, but was very impressed with the construction including the lid that snapped shut quite snuggly. Someone somewhere had mentioned getting it through doorways as an issue. I got it through my front door with zero problems. It was too wide for my bedroom door, but I don''t need it in my bedroom ;-)
