After 20+ years, the spigot on my ceramic pot started leaking. My new white spout was delivered the next day (which was great) and I installed it on my water jug. The spout leaked around the seal. No matter how much I tightened it, it still leaked. It turns out that the opening on my water pot is a fraction over 1". The rubber washers were not big enough to seal the opening.The company said they tried to find larger washers, but there weren''t any available. I ended up using aquarium sealer inside the hole so the spout would not leak. It has been over 1 month and so far everything is working out fine.
I am surprised that there are not ANY larger washers to be found, since there were washers that worked just fine on the pot previously.

We came to find the PlatyPreseve bags when we decided to take a home wine course and had to open 3 or 4 pricey bottles at one time. The problem is obvious not that we didn''t want to drink it all, lol. So after using these for a year, here''s what we think:1. The bags are BPA safe and very sturdy. They seal well and are easy to clean. BTW, the instructions say "no soap" for good reason. Use soap and you may have an aftertaste if you don''t rinse them repeatedly.
This is no problem because the material used is non-staining, semi-stiff and doesn''t seem to absorb wine or color. We always wash them right after we finish the wine just fill two or three times with fresh water, agitate, pour out, and leave them in the dishrack to drain, cap down. Works well.
2. They seal well. There is no need to "crank down" the caps, they seal reliably by just snugging them down lightly.
3. They pour safely and easily. One poster had trouble pouring wine, but it''s actually easy. Just support the bag in one hand, just under the cap with the other. The bag is semi-rigid and this works every time. Takes two hands, that''s all. You can''t pour with one hand.
4. Filling is best done with a small funnel, but in a pinch you can fill the bag without spillage if you use the same technique as for pouring, except this time the bottom corner of the bag is supported by the table, and the top with one hand. Of course the other hand holds and pours from the wine bottle.
Just lightly support the opening of the wine bottle on the bag opening, with a slight overlap. The bag is supported, and you simply pour slowly.
5. One problem you may have is expelling the air when there is not much wine left in the bag. Platy describes a technique, and we do it this way. Bag sideways, cap up and screwed on loosely (to let air out). Push the sideways bag, sideways against a flat vertical surface with the flat of your hand, applying pressure first to the bottom of the bag, then forcing the wine up toward the opening.
When the wine has almost filled the entire opening, then just use your other hand to snug the cap, and voila! You may spill a drop or two, but not ususally and this removes all the air, or nearly so.
Bottom line: a lovely, effective system. We''ve tossed these bags into our cooler for the beach, in the fridge for extended storage, etc. Have dropped a few from chest height. They are indescructable. Oh, and we like that they are clear, but still number them so we can remember what wine is in which bag.
Great product. I see them for $8 to $10 each, $27 to 29 for four. We got four.

I re-purposed an airless one-way squeeze valve with flip top cover from an Ikea beet syrup bottle (found in Ikea just past checkout at the foods area), which screws on to fit PERFECTLY.One attempts to drink a glass of wine each night per doctor''s orders yet feels bad about wasting the rest of the bottle (preservation gas and vac-pumps help only so much) and decent box wine is near impossible to find in the states.
Being a DIY gal, one of my many hydration camelbak/platypus/hydro packs was about to be sacrificed... or I''d have to buy a crap box wine and then do some monkeying to make my own reusable wine box to fill with decent wine. The Platypus Platy Wine Preserver is much better than either DIY solution (particularly now that I''ve switched out the simple screw top for a one-way flow food safe squeeze valve). Hi-Well as you can tell by the title...I LOVE this thing! I had used a "plain" Platypus for a few years in my travel bag which worked great...no smell no mess, just H2O for hydration.
I, like so many before me have vainly struggle to keep left-over wine from going bad. Forget the Vacuum pumps, the Argon gas, and all other methods. Gently fill and squeeze this bag to the top, turn cap to seal...then I put it in the fridge or freeze (which I know will sound silly or stupid to some). No O2, no oxidation...low temperature= slowing of chemical changes or microorganism growth.
This is super-great for hotel travel, place in a smallish cooler...then have a glass at night with your own snack or even with a room service sandwich. As you may know, most hotels charge and arm and two legs for just a small glass of marginal wine (this will hold about 1-4 fills of half a medium wine glass...but your "mileage may vary").
Remember, a small amount of red wine may be good for your health (remember SMALL AMOUNT) and this Platypus makes this possible with good wines ($5-50/ bottle). Get this in a 4-pack...it makes a great present as well. The color is superflous but the design is great...when filled it expands to sit upright light a wine bottle...for the fridge... or you can easying lay it flat in cooler or freezer...it will freeze like one of those stay cool blue bags...and you can used it to cool your cheese for travel!

The design is beautiful yet very flawed. The narrow shape makes it easy to topple over. And the screw lid on the top makes it hard to drink from ( I''ve burnt myself many times).
There are sooo many mugs that are better than this. Even a cup is better than this "mug." I just recently bought a "Thermos Nissan JMW500P6 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Backpack Bottle" and it is a million times better than this mug!

I bought the "Steel Works" by SIGG thermos in Afghanistan as I needed something to take on long missions outside the wire. It is very slender and fits comfortably in my cargo pocket. It seals well and keeps the contents, usually coffee, hot for several hours. If one gets in a jam, it can also double as a blunt edged weapon...LOLI find this thermos to be one of the best I have ever owned, and would reccommend it to anyone in need of a strong, sturdy, and well designed product.

After looking at the previous reviews I felt the urge to write this one to counter the negative comments. This is exactly what it looks like, a simple, unscrew the top, insulated mug. Its slender shape enables it to fit in even the smallest of car cup holders, and it does a good job of insulating hot drinks for a couple of hours, and cold drinks for about twelve hours. It has a wide opening, which I find handy for both cleaning and for being able to use the ice cubes that come from my 2" size cube trays. I find no negatives in this mug. The cap is a two part but unable to be used to drink from. Just a way of closing the seal without spilling if full and mostly pointless.Has to opened fully to drink from and when the (hot) drink is halfway down in level, it results in a splash back in your face (of a hot drink) every time after taking a sip.

This is clearly a case of form over function.I purchased this bottle and originally loved it. It is a nice stainless steel and the design was perfect for my son who loves anything with wheels. He loved this water bottle at first sight too, but for some reason, did not drink much water when we took it out with us. I didn''t really understand why he never seemed to want to drink from it until I actually tried it myself. When I drank out of that cap, I got more air than water! It was appalling! No wonder this water bottle always came home still full and my son always declined to drink when I offered it to him. He couldn''t get much water out, which can be very frustrating. Plus, he is probably swallowing air instead and then has gas cramps later in the evening.
The other problem that I noticed right off the bat was that the blue cap that is meant to keep the top sanitary when not in use hits my son in the face when he is trying to drink from it. That would have been excusable and easily remedied by removing it but the water flow issue is not acceptable. The sippy cap also leaks. Crocodile creek could solve all this by offering alternative caps that are better designed. I would be willing to buy a replacement cap for this bottle if I knew it worked. For a while we were simply removing the whole thing and just having him drink straight from the bottle and not through the sipping mechanism. But that requires me to help my son take the cap off since he can''t do it himself. This means I can''t send him to preschool with this bottle because he can''t use it independently.
Bottom line, do yourself and your child a favor and get him a 12 oz. klean kanteen with either the sports cap 2.0 or regular poly loop or flat cap. The sports cap has great flow and the other caps have excellent non-leaking seals. You can decide which is most important to you. I have both types of caps depending on whether the bottle is traveling on the outside or inside of a bag and whether he is taking it to preschool. It''s nice to have options without having to buy a new bottle. Plus, the opening of the bottle is larger on the klean kanteen compared to the crocodile creek, which means it''s much easier to fill and get ice cubes into.

I got these to use for pancakes, rather than paying a premium for one of those special kitchen gadget thingies which does the same thing. Then I discovered they work very well as fat separators, too. You need to use a towel or hotpad to hold the container when pouring in hot liquid but they stand upright as the fat separates from pan drippings or soups. Threads on lids are poorly made resulting in leaks and stripped threads. The lids have to be extremely tight to seal and stop leaks but the poor manufacturing and no secondary seal ring result in leaks or the inability to dispense product. Not recommended.

As a graduate student suffering from back problems, I was very particular about the backpack I wanted to buy. This bag is very sturdy, easy to maneuver and fits everything I need, i.e. computer, books, water bottle, etc. JanSport knows how to make a great product and I would recommend this bag to anyone.
This bag by JanSport, however, has been really awesome so far. It has two pretty sizable wheels that have good traction, and should stuff get wrapped up in there, it doesn''t affect the way this bag handles in the least.

Before, I would have to fight with my bags because I would have to physically press down the handle if I had to climb stairs and whatnot, and often times it would just get stuck. Not fun at all. This is our second Driver 8. My daughter has beat up the first one for 3 years and finally has managed to rip a hole in it with some sharp object. I tried finding a neoprene sleeve for a 40oz klean kanteen bottle. If you look at the outer specs, it almost matches a plastic nalgene 1L bottle. I thought there would be more options, but not really. The first one I found was a different brand. It had an ill fit and reeked of rubber. I was grossly disappointed and looked for something else.After waiting a few days for non-prime shipping, I got this and though it was way too short. I was pleasantly surprised at the stretch and the fit is excellent for both 40oz wide and classic bottles. I didn''t like the logo and it came off with rubbing alcohol and a towel. There is a little nylon loop at the top that could fit a carabiner. I might cut it off as my bottle tops have more trustworthy loops.
If it helps you pull the trigger, I just ordered another one.

My original review was about the 32oz sleeve on 40oz bottles. It worked well enough, but I noticed that when the sleeve was on a 1L nalgene wide mouth, it was a lot more squishy. Since then, the 40oz sleeve was listed. I''ve seen it work nicely on both classic and wide mouth klean kanteen bottles.
My bottles have sturdy handles, so I cut off the loops. Loose nylon threads were easily taken care of w/ a lighter''s flame.The product showed up when it was promised and it was exactly as pictured. I am happy with my purchase.

Just received my shower pass and I think I am going to like it, however, I took the water reservoir out of the case to take a look at it and see how I would empty it and clean it... it took me 10 minutes to get it tucked back inside. The material around the opening does not stretch. Hopefully I am missing a trick... but at this moment I am frustrated. I believe once I get it installed and use it I will be happy. Just wish it was easier to remove and clean the reservoir.

I had read a few rather critical reviews of this device (hydration system sounds a little exaggerated) but decided to ignore them because they sounded as if they were made by folks who don''t put in big miles when cycling, I do. If you put in long miles at some point or another two frame mounted bottles will not be enough. Your only alternative then is a backpack canteen which has downsides in my book, it changes your center of gravity when its full, when its empty it just sits their on your back and in both cases I don''t like how hot I get with the backpack against my back.This gives me the equivalent of another two bottles, the frame carries the load not me and its simple. If there is one suggestion for improvement it would be to make the storage pocket a little bigger, it can hold a tube and some tire levers some cash and a credit card or two but nothing more. A little more space would give enough room to add a multi-tool. For what its designed for I think its great. I may buy a couple more for my cycling friends...

Great concept a solar version of the Guyot Designs FireFlye Lantern but two huge drawbacks. One it is heavy, heaver than a a water bottle light with battery''s. Two you have to use there bottle. you cant migrate the cap to other bottles you already have. I bough this product to ad to my backpacking gear and it is poorly suited for the job. If you are car camping it think it is a neat toy.
If you''re looking for a solar powered flashlight, this isn''t the product for you. If you are looking for a solar powered "glow stick", then you won''t be disappointed.This seems an early design since there are multiple imperfections: there are too many unconnected parts, specifically the rubber gasket pops off easily and is hard to keep track of, the width of the bottle makes it nearly impossible for small hands like mine to manage, it needs some kind of handle, more than the thin cord I can''t quite figure out how to attach securely.

We spend 4-6 weeks camping on the beach in baja every winter and have several LightCap 300''s that we take with us. They are perfect for mixing margaritas and carrying them to the beach. Having the light for the walk back to our camp is always helpful. We charge the caps everyday and they provide enough light for the night.Good gift for the guy that has everything. I have to tell you that my review will be little biased because I like SIGG product. Nothing is out of ordinary, but I have to tell you that I do not like the cap that it came with. it is hard to operate, bulky. would recommend regular traditional bottle cap.

GREAT Product! My grandchildren and myself love it. It''s a Water Bottle that goes into a case. So easy to put on (unlike all the rest that you have to screw on, etc.) Just velcro it anywhere you want on the bike.Will definitely order more for others who ride bikes. That being said, the water bottle it comes with isn''t quality. It doesnt have good suction so when you drink, a lot of air comes with it, making the drinking experience the opposite of pleasurable.
The velcro strap that secures the water bottle is very nice and allows you to put a variety of bottles in the holder instead of the one it comes with.
I highly recommend buying this if you are looking for a good holder. If you are in it for the water bottle, get something else.

I''ve been looking for a water bottle holder for my Brompton folding bike. This one looked pretty decent, and it was at a good (i.e., inexpensive!) price.It arrived VERY quickly, and the packing was just fine. I quickly put it on my Brompton, fastening the vertical loop of rip&strip tape around the handlebar and the horizontal one around the stem.
It works fine. With only two attachment points, it does sway a bit. If I use this regularly as a bottle holder on this bike, I''ll wrap a toe clip strap or something around the bottom for a little extra stabilization. Note: you would NOT need this if you were fastening it to your belt or carrying by hand. And you wouldn''t need it if the little bit of swaying it does doesn''t bother you. I just like a little bit of extra security.
I didn''t go over any big bumps in my test rides, so I don''t know if the water bottle would pop out if I did. There is a rip&strip strap at the top of the holder that might be useful in cinching the bottle in a little tighter. That''s not quite as good as a drawstring, but it would probably help.
I did try my Kleen Kanteen bottle in the holder. It''s a little tall for it, but I think it would work in a pinch.
